August highlights

We kicked off the new racing season in great style with 3 winners and numerous placegetters for the month.

Kickamushu notched up our first win of the season when she produced a dominant front running display at Nowra for Lee Magorrian

Mystic Diva broke through for an overdue win at Moruya for Quayde Krogh. In doing so, she held off stable mate Pretty Please to give us a stable quinella. Diva’s win followed placings in her first 2 starts this preparation.

Master Riley produced a tough effort at Newcastle for Jess Taylor to make it 3 winners for the month. At his first up run this preparation Riley, had produced a good effort to run 3rd behind a couple of smart ones in a Super Maiden at Moruya.

It was fantastic to see these 3 record their Maiden wins. Kickamushu and Mystic Diva have raced consistently for numerous previous placings. Master Riley is an exciting prospect with a lot of improvement to come. He can build on his solid record of a win, 2 thirds and a 4th placing from only 4 starts.

All 3 horses were selected and purchased by myself as yearlings for modest amounts. Mystic Diva was a $3k purchase from the HTBA sale, Kickamushu was a $7k yearling purchase from Inglis Digital whilst Master Riley was a $22k purchase from the HTBA sale.

The Bateup Racing Team kicked off the new season in fine style with 3 winners during August 😍. Kickamushu, Mystic Diva and Master Riley all broke through for their Maiden wins. Kickamushu and Mystic Diva have been very consistent performers and were well overdue to knock off their first wins, whilst the lightly raced Master Riley notched his first win at his 4th career start and has never finished out of the first four! Pretty Please ran 2nd to Mystic Diva at Moruya and followed that up with a 3rd in a Super Maiden at Kembla Grange. We look forward to continuing with a successful season. Well done to all of our owners and thank you to our great team of staff and supporters

Pretty Please has relished stepping up to 1600m and is improving with each run. A good 2nd placing to Mystic Diva at Moruya was followed by a very game 3rd in a Super Maiden at Kembla Grange.

Tartana collected another 3rd placing at Kembla on the 17th August and has been a model of consistency all preparation. Gunnaheadovksi finished solidly at Kembla over 1400m on the 10th August finishing 4th beaten a mere head.

We have a nice team coming through with a lot of young and lightly raced horses about to return to the races or kick off their racing careers. We have also had a number of new horses join the stable over the past month which is quite exciting.

We are looking forward to the coming months, especially as we start to move into Spring and some better weather.
