It has been a quieter month on the racing front as we continue to encounter wet tracks across the state. June was also one of those changeover periods for a stable when a number of the horses that have been up racing went to the paddock whilst we have a batch of young horses getting ready to trial and return to the races.
Skaifee went within a whisker of notching his 6th career win and surpassed the $100k mark in prizemoney with a barnstorming finish at Moruya. From the outside barrier, Spot settled at the rear of the field and made his run right down the outside just missing out in a deceptive photo.
On the same day, Hope Uno also had to settle for 2nd placing over 1650m. She will have her final start for the stable on the 5th July at Tamworth (which is where she won her Maiden). Hope will then embark on the next chapter of her career as a broodmare.
Taneesha makes it to the finals!
We are delighted that our stablehand Taneesha King has been selected as a finalist for the Racing NSW, Strapper of the Year Award to be announced in August.
Taneesha jouned our team nearly 5 years ago and it has been great to watch her development as a racing professional.
She knows her horses and brings a professional eye for detai to their care. And what horse doesn’t enjoy a race day visit to Taneesha’s Beauty Parlour ! Coats gleaming after a thorough shampoo; white socks whiter than white; not a hair out of place; patterns perfect and all rounded out with a Taneesha Pedicure.
Taneesha also has a great rapport with stable owners and I’m sure many of you will know or recognise her from watching your horses saddled at the races or parading on Sky Thoroughbred Central.
Good luck Taneesha!!
